I met my boyfriend, Marcos, on a the day of a tech rehearsal that I had for the Highstepper Spring Show. He was currently dating a friend that I was in theatre with, and they had met through a color guard competition (my boyfriend was from another high school). Anyways, right before the summer of my junior year, Logan (my bf’s ex) told Marcos that they were going to date through the summer and break up at the end because they were going to different colleges. Marcos, thinking that this was stupid to just wait for the inevitable, broke up with him right then and there. I had added Marcos on Facebook after I met him, and after him and Logan broke up, I was very comforting (it’s in my nature) to him while he was doing it. So we became good friends during the summer and then I got a question on my Formspring on August 24th: “What if there was a guy out there (someone you no and like) who thought that you were very sweet and cute and wanted to date you? What would you say to them if you just wanted to be friends? (cause your strait and all)” -Anonymous I simply put: “Ummmmmmmm… .how about you just text me and we will talk about this… “ -Me He said in another question: “What if this guy doesn’t have the courage to text you… Yet?” -Anonymous I put down my motto: “Well. The motto I live by is ‘Just do it, that way you will have no regrets, and don’t forget to enjoy the small things’.” -Me He text me, but didn’t tell me it was him at the time, so I called him mystery man for a little while until he dropped hints on who he is. He finally told me he would tell me five words, which will be text randomly throughout the day, which were “We” “Share” “The” Same”… And after that word I started thinking about something I share that is special with a guy. I finally realized it… BIRTHDAY! We share the same birthday, May 7th, only he was born a year earlier. Once I figured out it was him I fell for him faster than anything before. He took my heart and locked it away and I was just fine with that. He made it official on July 5th, 2010… And we have been dating ever since. 1 year and 7 months and 2 days… I finally met him once I got back from T.A.L.S. Camp, a theatre camp that I attended. I almost didn’t meet him, however. Marcos would have been my first major gay relationship and I was so nervous that while I was at Starbucks (getting him a White Chocolate Mocha and myself a Double Chocolate Chip Frap) I almost threw the drinks away and went home, but the lovely black woman who gave me my drinks, who could tell I was nervous, told me to follow my heart, which I did, all the way into his arms.
